When decide what products are worthwhile, what's the minimum you expect to profit on each item sold?

This is a question about the culture of your call center.
If a call center rep gets a customer question they can't answer, what typically happens and what do you hope will happen?
I've worked in several call centers and what typically happens is the rep just makes something up. Call center reps are typically discouraged from asking questions if they don't know the answer themselves. Sometimes there's a "knowledgebase," but it's typically inadequate and infrequently updated.

How big is your warehouse?
And what was your "warehouse" when you started out?
I was thinking about starting a small warehouse in a spare bedroom or shed. I wouldn't want to start hardcore selling without a good organizational system in place.
