Ok this is admittedly not what I think is intended by “essential workers”, but biotech/pharma workers are considered essential for keeping healthcare infrastructure up and we’re working in-person throughout the pandemic. At the risk of sounding entitled because we are rather well-paid compared to other essential workers, our wages have not moved in 5-10 years, while executives get their third beach house, and so many of us are chronically angry with nothing to do about it.
Do you have any advice for biotech/pharma employees who are chronically underpaid through various wage suppressing tactics? It’s gotten really bad, scientists/engineers and middle managers can’t afford median homes in cities that house the industry. How do we even begin to fix this?
