How did you work your way into hospitality revenue management in Vegas? Kudos to you for doing so in such a competitive town in terms of that industry!

Ex strip club bartender//door girl here. I worked a summer in a popular strip club town in Carolina and I was pretty positive that a lot of the girls were victims of human trafficking. The reason why is because there were A LOT of Russians//Eastern Europeans in the town, and most of them were females who worked in the club industry. Whenever I asked one of the girls why she moved to America (and that town in particular since it had such a High concentration of them), I always got a deer-in-headlights look, and I always got weird excuses. Some didn't even make sense. But the main reason I suspected that was because a couple of the girls I got to know just randomly dissapeared. Even the girl's closest (Russian) friends had no idea why "so and so " would be M.I.A. I have no proof of the missing foreign girls being trafficked, but nothing else I can think of would just add up, ya know? On the other hand most of my time in the business was spent working a little further up north, and I didn't see any of that stuff. On top of that, most of the girls I worked with weren't like the drugged-out sex robots the OP is describing.. they were either single moms or students who just wanted some extra cash. Sure, a lot of them liked weed and champagne, but most strip club dressing rooms aren't some coked-up extravaganza you'd see on Tv (that'd be a good way for a girl to get fired on the spot). But I think in terms of trafficking and what kinds of girls work at the establishment all depends on location//ABC laws//the club in general.

I'm in management, but due to property size I do duel work at the desk. My biggest pet peeve is when I tell a guest to have a nice day and they don't say it back. I also hate when I have my hand out for credit/cash and they put it on the counter instead, as I see this as bad etiquette.

But worst of all are the ones who just walk in with a bad attitude in general. You could give them the best room in the house, but it wouldn't matter because some people just decide they don't like a certain property before even walking through the door (this is usually the result of a bad trip over here, or lack of planning on their part and ASSUMING we're on the oceanfront. All it takes is a simple phone call, or even a look at Google maps, to realize that we are not oceanfront. I'm not going to refund someone because of poor planning and lack of research on their part).

The worst is when they leave a bad review on Trip Advisor for not giving them an early check-in. As stated on the phone, and both our site and every 3rd party site, early check-ins are requests, meaning they are not guaranteed. Of course I try my best to accommodate them, but if I don't have any clean rooms or vacant rooms at that time what in God's name are they expecting me to do? Snap my fingers and make a clean room magically appear?
