It's not a grey area because real child pornography is illegal not because it portrays children but rather because the child in the photo was a victim of exploitation.
Manufactured CP sure as shit is an uncomfortable topic but since there was no victim there is no crime. We allow people to play out murder sprees in video games without batting an eye.
I think manufactured CP is morally wrong but shouldn't be illegal.
