that's messed up, man.

I hate to say it but yeah. Harvey is actually very cute. Downside: I have no idea what we'll do ads about now.

Yeah, I think some of the logic is the same logic as TAL and Torey, that it's nice to have one more tiny thing at the end of the episode.

The other part is that Matt is a superhero at Gimlet. He does everything that makes the place not burn down. But he is also weirdly humble so he told us not to even put him in the credits of the show. So we decided to make his role on our show more absurd as time went on.

I promise things are better now! We're working very hard but not in the frenetic, hygeine-less way that we were before.

That episode helped a lot. Just talking about it. We're lucky to work at a place where people listen. And also, Reply All hired a bunch more people who are very talented -- The Rev. John De Lore, who mixes and soundscapes a lot of the show, Tim Howard, our senior producer, and Sruthi Pinnamaneni, who is a brilliant producer/editor/writer/ass-kicker. That helps a lot.

I think that Startup season 2 will maybe have some Gimlet updates too. Also Nazanin just stopped by the office (like right now). She and Blumberg are talking but he does not seem to be recording it.

Other things are in the works. Very very good other things.

It's different! At TLDR it was usually just Alex and I collaborating editorially.

There are more of us at Gimlet, and so there are more people throwing good ideas into the mix, or pushing the show in a more ambitious direction. The first version of the Marnie story this week didn't have Maru Taro's owner in it, but Tim, RA's senior producer, really wanted to hear from him. I think it made it way better. Or in the One Direction episode, I didn't originally talk to the 1D fans, but Blumberg really wanted to hear from them. I think they were what made that episode so great.

And even though we are producing a lot more radio (more episodes that are also longer) we actually run through more edits. Which is fun. Stressful (because edits are stressful) but more fun because a group edit at Gimlet is a really exciting room to be in. Smart people punching up each other's ideas.

I think internet stories are mostly like stories you'd find anywhere else but the scale of them can be very crazy. Like for better or for worse, the internet magnifies existing human stuff to very insane degrees.
