So in the event of a necessary quick reaction, do you immediately run to the armory to get live ammo and just keep the dress uniform on? I don't imagine there's time to change into something more tactical?

The radicals of each side are at fault here, and it's absolutely not equal, totally. I wasn't intending to imply that. Until younger Israeli generations can unfuck the country's politics and kick the right wing extremists out of power, you can't expect Israel's disproportional apartheid responses to end. Surrounding countries fund Hamas' attacks knowing it won't help the Palestinian's situation, and instead prolongs/prevents a progressive shift in Israel by maintaining a constant fear of attack.

Israel has alarmingly trended towards right wing authoritarianism, and making it worse is that UN reports on Israel tend to minimize or not mention at all rocket attacks and other terrorism against civilian targets, often funded by Islamic countries who have a vested interest in the conflict continuing and worsening. So I don't know, it's all fucked. Everyone involved needs multi-generational memory loss to forgive and forget.
