My main frustration with the environmental movement is the rejection of GMO technology. There is a general consensus that GM crops are as safe as any other crop, and many can reduce the environmental impact of agriculture.
Just as one example, GM crops that produce Bt protein pesticides (already used extensively in organic farming) don't need to be sprayed with those pesticides multiple times. You don't have to use a diesel tractor so much, you don't contaminate the surrounding wildlife, and you get a better yield.
