I made the switch to a vegan lifestyle about a year and a half ago. I made sure to jump in head first and read, watch, experience everything that was available to me. It hit my heart with a solid blow. Many days, weeks and months of analyzing my core beliefs about my place in this world has changed my perspective on my whole life. Those animals I used to disregard and forget about have taught me so much. I would like to thank you for having the bravery to endure the terror. It would devastate me having to experience what you have.

I think even if you argue that these local farmed animals have a relatively relaxed few years of life, you can not argue that they are indeed enslaved by human kind. From birth their life spans are predetermined by us. It's not natural and is not sustainable. I think Mother Nature and planet Earth have already been giving us plenty of indications to change our ways. All future generations will pay the price for our greed. From our own history of enslavement and genocide of our own kind it's plain as the nose on our faces that we have zero respect for any other species on this planet. In fact we have zero respect for just about everything.
