Why did the loop slide close?

My wife is Asian and was picked as the”feast guest”. We have heard that other shows also picked Asian women. Her theory is they expect that Asian women will refuse to eat, as did my wife, which makes the interaction more interesting. Is there any truth to this? I realize this is cultural bias but apparently she is quite proud of refusing to cooperate with the show in front of a sold out theater.
