How does your boyfriend feel about it. There's a possibility that my girlfriends sister can't have kids and my SO said she would surrogate if it came down to it. I've seriously wondered if I could put up with her being pregnant knowing the kid wasn't mine/we weren't keeping it.

On a side note I've worked on something called the Navajo Oral History Project which is a callaboration between Winona State University in Minnesota and Dine College in Tsaille Arizona. The purpose of the project is to interview Navajo Elders about their lives in order to help preserve the culture. If there's anything you can do to spread the word about the project please do!
