Will do. A botany PhD I met recently actually just replied, and asked for some help in mathematical modeling and programming! Pretty excited.

How would you approach professors though? I'm honestly a little threatened. If I ask a small specific question about the subject, I feel like the question's too petty and I'm wasting their time. But if I ask for something broad like "Can you guide me in learning about neural networks?", they would be too busy to help me. What type of questions should I be asking? I'm just really unfamiliar with academic culture, and what the customs are.
