Hi, this looks like a good read, but I'm a little concerned that having only mustered a "C" in GCSE maths, it might go a little over my head. I wouldn't know a "general recursive function" if it got up in front of me and started singing "general recursive functions are here again".

Well it depends on the interview. I haven't seen/read/listened to this particular interview, so I can't say if it was sycophantic or aggressive or some happy medium.
I generally dislike any interview which is too far to one extreme or the other, but I'd generally give Paxman a free pass on aggression, if only because he seems to be quite even-handed at dishing it out.
