Is it a good or bad idea to have certain dealbreakers, or should you always keep an open mind even if you're (for example) a vegan who's on a date with someone who goes hunting? is it better to call it quits early on and save time or dig a bit deeper and find common ground?

I totally agree with you about "literally." We all know what it means, we're being hyperbolic! I wouldn't use it in an essay, paper or anything official, but I don't see the problem in using it in informal situations.

When people say "figuratively" and "figuratively speaking" it sort of annoys me. We all know what a metaphor is, no need to point it out to everyone.
