How do you reconcile your belief with the scriptures directly opposing it?

Hey man, I went a read the clobber verses posts on thegaychristian.com. I have to say, his arguments are pretty poor. He uses very twisted descriptions of the Greek in the verses, and seems to bring a lot of his own meaning to the verses. (the very thing he is accusing the others of!). He also uses a lot of 'context' to support his arguments, but provides no sources or support for that context.

Please don't get me wrong, I don't believe in excommunication of the LBGT community. I don't believe they are any less of people, or agree with church wide discrimination against that community. I do, however, believe it is a sin. It is fairly explicit in the scriptures (NT not OT) and I think it is wrong to ignore that. I do not agree with the emphasis placed on homosexuality though. We focus way too much on it, when in reality, it is just like any other sin.

I also don't believe that people who do not follow God should have to live under our law. If you aren't a Christian, then who cares what you do? It is not our place to judge those outside the law with the law. (law referring to Christian 'law'). It also isn't our place to control what non Christians can and can't do. I'm just not pro homosexuality in the church.

Can you link to any of this material? It'd be interesting to actually read it.

Would love to do my homework, which is why I asked the original question. I've done a quick read from what OP gave me, and I'm not super impressed. Saying that, it was only a blog written by someone I'm assumed not theologically trained. I'll have a look at this other guy you've recommended when I get a chance.
