Like Lorne, I'm a fan of Keldorn. Too often writing for paladins degenerates into a one-dimensional, goody-two-shoes caricature, and he's a refreshing break from that. In BG, it's a little harder since there isn't a lot of meat for them sans mods. Big fan of Garrick with BG1 NPC installed, for what it's worth.

1 - I subscribe heavily to the Minsc theory of party composition (swords for everyone!), so I tend to run fairly melee-heavy. A good-PC run in BG2 for me will usually be a f/t, Minsc, Keldorn, Jaheira, Imoen and Nalia/Aerie/Neera. It tends to make the spellcaster-dominated late game a little harder, but I definitely prefer close combat.

Trent's covered the BG3 question at the top of the thread, and I'll defer the isometric question to someone a little higher up than I.

I actually developed the Tyr kit originally for Dorn's ToB storyline so the files for the beta version, so to speak, are already in BGIIEE for it. We ended up dropping it as a player option as we ran out of time for release, and ended up moving it to IWDEE and running it through the full QA process. Both will eventually make their way to the other games in future patches.

As for future kits, yes, you will see more.

From a gameplay standpoint, there really wasn't a way to justify a bag big enough to hold her for regen and not also be able to hold other stuff. Hexxat's already a departure from traditional characters so the bag is kinda down the list, so to speak.

Dovetailing on what Phil said--as a modder, and EE dev, my personal pet peeve is when I see the claim that the EEs don't do anything that mods can't do. Even if you set aside the additional platforms (iOS, Android, Linux) and the new UI features (quick loot, zoom, etc.), you're still left with a ton of engine features and fixes simply not available anywhere else.
