I'm gonna get down-voted to hell here but.
Theres alot of interesting studies around how much protein is required for athletes, good reads if you can be bothered, but the general consensus within the scientific community is ~50 grams a day for an athlete to build and maintain muscle.
The whole 1.5g per 1lb of lean body mass was basically started by our friends in the supplement industry and their 'studies', i wonder why......
