I always find it hilarious that Americans think us Irish drink Guinness almost exclusively.

The main stout drinkers are middle aged men and upwards, although the occasional younger guy will drink it too.

That's 20% from a single bar in Dublin. It's different in different parts of the country.

We're certainly fond of our stout in Ireland, no doubt. I worked in a rural bar in Cork, Murphy's and Beamish stout were more popular than Guinness, as was Heineken. It depends where you go. In Dublin, Guinness might be most popular but in my experience 20% of beer drinkers certainly don't drink Guinness. Lagers are generally more popular in my experience.
