How did you survive? I mean, you said elsewhere that nobody saw it happen, or could hear you or see you, so what happened after you lost consciousness? How were you found and who found you?

This is my main concern and I don’t think we’ll be careful enough. Give it a few years (or months!) and almost everything online will be inaccurate, completely wrong, synthetic or at best, totally untrustworthy. We are screwing ourselves over with this tech, and it’ll contaminate everything.

But lack of sleep and insomnia aren't the same thing - it is possible to lack sleep for reasons other than inability to fall asleep, such as environment disturbances, medication/drugs, torture. Lack of sleep can lead to extreme drowsiness and spontaneous sleep which can definitely result in death. Or are you saying that insomniacs never feel tired enough to spontaneously fall asleep?

Trouble is there's so much cloud cover on Venus that your audience wouldn't be able to see the finale.

There's sometimes a metal cylinder at the bottom that can slow the collision (although perhaps that's just mine shafts?)
