Is there any kind of effort taken by the FCC to ensure a minimum broadband Internet speed?

Edit: I'll rephrase this a bit better.. I had read somewhere that the FCC was considering raising the minimum speed requirement for broadband up to 10mb from its current minimum. Is that still in the works, or has the idea been abandoned?

Well, it'll probably be coming some time after people decide exactly what 5g is. There are no 5g standards that are set right now, and remember that you might see another faux-g thing, where companies were rebranding HSPA+ (basically turbocharged 3G) as 4g.

However, LTE advanced is becoming quite common, and you might start seeing 80+ Mbps on your phone relatively soon.

Having worked at sprint like OP has mentioned, this is something that we were told is not an answer to take, plain and simple. The best hing to do is take your time, have a conversation, humor them, and then just tell them that you aren't ready and you would like to have heir card, so maybe that when you are ready, you'll come back to them and they'll get the commission for it.

90 is basically what LTE capped out at. LTE Advanced is basically what sprint's LTE+ is, and that standard allows up to 300mbps. It's available only very recently and will take some time before its commonplace for the consumer.
