A world w/out oil would mean no plane travel, plastics used in all kinds of things from medical devices to the battery case in your Prius, synthetic rubbers/fibers, photographic film, heating oil, and many more. It would be extremely difficult, probably impossible, to live a civilized life in a developed country without using oil.

Of course, but that's not the point. His question stunk of moral superiority when all the OP does is provide you and everyone else on this planet a resource that currently we could not live without. If saywhatagainmfer thinks the OP should feel guilty, then he should feel just as guilty himself. Because it is impossible not to use a byproduct of oil, that keyboard, that mouse, that computer you're using... you feel guilty what your grandkids might say to you about the impacts of your actions on the environment? Self-righteous little shit, completely ignorant of the world around him.
