Edit: I've been digging around, and this article from Space.com leads me to believe that the cuts that Sanders voted for in 2012 to NASA's budget (which anyone who voted to approve the 2013 budget would have "voted for") were consistent with the 5% across-the-board cuts that resulted from the budget sequestration that was passed in 2011(which Bernie voted against).

You're absolutely right. It's a destructive attitude that is all too commonplace in contemporary discourse of all sorts, and I happen to think that's a bad thing.

Your recommendation for helping bring together people who disagree with one another is to wholly dismiss the position of those you disagree with, while stating your position is "common sense?" I'm sure that will work great.
