Hey Daniel! As a fellow ABC (American-born, or in my case, Canadian-born, Chinese), how in touch with your heritage were you growing up? Did you ever learn how to read or speak any of the Chinese dialects? I read somewhere you're not fluent in Cantonese, because your folks were from Shanghai. And as a parent, do you plan to share/pass on what you know with your kids, keep them in touch with that side of their cultural background, and how?

Hah! My grandmum still wears girdles and despairs at me and my cousins for wearing skinny jeans and crop-tops!!

Except the ones who taught Science classes; I can only assume there was an incident with a Bunsen burner at some point that nobody talks about.

Has anyone told you that your name is almost identical to that of actor Richard Dean Anderson, of MacGyver and Stargate SG-1 fame?

Also, any chance your family is actually related to said actor?

(Most of my questions regarding military service have been answered already, so I thought I'd ask something different. :D )
