but hearing it directly from the source means so much more than from a western news reporter

as a taxpayer, I'd rather it be easier for servicemen and women to abuse the disability system than for it to be harder for anyone who actually needs help to get it. if you volunteer to protect me, my family and our constitution, you get a bit of a free pass from me. might some people be getting more of my money than the law intends? sure, but I'm okay with that.

edited to add I don't think a drone operator claiming PTSD is gaming the system on spec. my comments were about the armed forces as a whole.

AFAIK if it goes to an outside collections agency (and not just the collections dept), the company/utility owed gets their money from the collections agency upfront. the agency then gets paid by collecting the debt + their fees.

What about the types of jobs we can look for before we get our degrees? I see many places requiring either your MSW or your counselling/therapist masters before you can get into direct client interactions, but there have to be lower level jobs at crisis centers and shelters that don't require six years of college...

I started a CS degree 15 years ago. I honestly wish it were easier to do both. Counselling and crisis intervention is emotionally and mentally taxing as a full time profession, but I also have no wish to sit at a be-cubicled desk 40 hours a week. My dream would be to do social work part time, and fill out the rest of my time with programming, QA, maybe game theory or something along those lines, as a sort of built in self-care.
