Mountain people of Andes were (and still pretty much are) keeping rats for this purpose (as well). I bet for most people it won't take to say many times 'grand' (as in 'my grandmother/father) to stumble on a long, long line of prolific rat hunters.

The delivery truck carries multiple parcels. Never mention the less common items. Eg, I used to shop for electronics parts, and it is 15 min instead of literally days (not only wasting the gas, but using the streets, parking lots, etc. too).

A personal anecdote: many years ago I was gainfully employed as a software engineer, so once in a while someone completely uninitiated would come up with another 'perpetual motion' idea or some such. Of those I remember a guy who was little more down to earth, so he proposed I computerize those autodialers and we rip the benefits together. I remember reflecting for some time afterwards if I should have somehow insulted him as well :)
