Found some census records, he was the only one in the right age range that was a Jr. Then matched the birthdate on his individual census record with this enlistment record, which matches to the date. I couldn't find any additional records that I could match, but I can keep looking!
There's some info in there to go on, you might see if the UAW union or vfw has any contact info.
On a side note, someone in the guest book mentions them having an apartment back in 2011 when she passed - maybe it's your same apartment? Do you live in KC?

ETA: From cross-referencing other family members death records, it would seem this is his wife's obituary and that he still lives in Missouri if he hasn't passed away in the last 2 years: http://dwfloralhills.tributes.com/show/Betty-Mae-Brown-92297616
