The fact that an American girl is the main character and the forest seems kind of reduced to a "spooky foreign death place" backdrop without real any exploration or attention paid to the actual people who this mental health crisis is affecting is why people have problems with the movie.
hit it right on the head. this kind of rings of that disastrous movie about the white people in the depths of a tsunami disaster in an unnamed Asian country, or that other movie of that white family in an unnamed Asian country when terrorists came into town. that said i have a lot of respect for natalie and i was kind of surprised she was making a movie like this so i'd like to see her response.

To be quite honest that isn't extreme politeness in the sense you are thinking. I think she might have felt extremely burdened and had a sense of duty because that was what expected of her. Granted I wasn't there she might have been super friendly but generally sense of duty is very strong there. Friendliness is not.

MIA stated that you hated on her for going mainstream in a recent interview and said she found it ironic that you were best buds with Taylor Swift and Lorde. How do you feel about that?
