Do you receive help and support from HR? Do you find it emotionally draining?

I remember my mother having to fire about 99 people without training, she came home crying almost every night. (plot twist, they told her 100 people were being fired, made her do the dirty work then fired her as the 100th.)

She did, but had to take a very reduced settlement otherwise they wouldn't give her references. She's not even allowed to talk about what happened there.

Do HR offer you support though? Or do you just have to do it and deal with the tears?

She sued for wrongful dismissal as well as a couple of other things, they deliberately left her out of business meetings etc. Their MO was to make her head of a department and issue a memo saying everyone in the department was safe, no one would be fired. Then they'd call her in tell her reports were bad... and get her to fire almost the entire department.

Her colleagues set up hate pages about her, refused to talk to her in the work place and so did her bosses to seem like they were on the other employees sides.

She pretty much had a mental breakdown because of it. They are bastards and I hate them for it.

For people in the UK it was the newcomer Channel 5 that showed the softcore late at night.

She's one of those people that will see stuff through to the end, there's also not a lot of women at her level in that industry and she was pretty determined to tough it out as all the other managers were male. I think it was almost a relief when she left.
