As a professional cook, I think it's horse shit that everybody is so concerned with tipping the dude that waits around for me to COOK YOUR DAMN FOOD and then deliver it, but fuck me and my tips.

That's exactly the problem, 95% of these delivery apps dont even have it as an option. In the last year or two since everyone has started shifting towards using delivery apps, my restaurant's overall tips have taken about a 35% dive, meaning we've all essentially taken a $1-1.50 per hour pay cut.

Jesus, yeah that would be crazy. I live in Canada, so shit is pretty different here. I'm the longest tenured staff member and the BoH manager, so I get $18 (13.65USD), and the lowest paid cook gets $15. All the servers are paid $14.50-16. So the difference between me and the lowest paid server is less than 3USD. Tips are pooled evenly between everyone based on hours

Yeah I remember when the were 5 bucks canadian per coin. I remember thinking "hmm maybe I should buy more of these and put them away somewhere," but being 20 years old and an active drug user, I did not save any. I think about it all the time.

I bought $120 worth last year and it has since turned into over $500 worth which is nice, but I recently tortured myself by doing the math to see what $120 worth 9 years ago would be worth now... I wanted to die.

Yeah we're fast casual, so we pool the tips evenly between everyone based on hours worked
