As someone who would be on the opposite side of the debate as you, racism has had a clear definition for a long time - the belief in inherent genetic superiority and actions stemming from that belief. Changing it instead of just adding “systemic” or “institutional” to it seems underhanded and instantly engenders mistrust that you are debating in good faith.
