Divorce brings out the very very worst in people. I'm terribly sorry for the loss of your brother and all the PTSD. No child should go through that. My heart goes out to your mother. What a mess.

And yet not a single person gave a victim impact statement. Pretty telling on where their loyalties are.

My MIL has Alzheimer's. The first week was hell for my FIL. Begging, crying, praying to go home. (She was doing this at the house they built and lived in for 50 years as well).

Somehow we stumbled onto the idea of her being 'at work'. She's been very happy that she's busy at work, when we take her out to lunch or the park, she tells us she can't be too long because she has to get back to work.

She has totally stopped asking to go home (so far) for the last 3 months. It's heartbreaking for us but she's happy as a clam.

As an older American woman who saw what happened in 1979 in Iran I can understand the feeling of wanting to hide and not become a target. Once they gwent through the trauma of trying to become free, and had it crushed, it makes it harder to stand up again. But I know inside they have flickers of hope for your generation.

You are NOT THE PROBLEM. Know that women deserve choice and freedom from fear regardless of where they live.
