I'm giving an overall perspective here.

• Basically the Government owns all the major coal based thermal power plants.
• India has a good coal reserve, but most of it is of poorer grade, hence we import coal from Australia.
• We've good hydro power plants, and are continually adding more capacity here.
• But still India is quite deficient on the power supply. Currently major parts of the country are reeling under bad power cuts like from more than six hours a day!
• There are four states that have good wind potential and have mostly made good use of it.

I'm in the energy field as well, but am from India. How good is your power plants' efficiency?

I understand wind's unstable and fluctuates, but how bad is the situation?
