Thanks for doing this AMA.

Did you have difficulty getting your doctor to take your symptoms seriously?

How long did you have those telltale symptoms (such as the cramps you mentioned) before you brought them up to a doctor?

Were there factors that made it more likely for you to develop bowel cancer?

Did you have the choice to call a cab or some other service, instead of going without sedation?

How painful was colonoscopy without being sedated?

What work did you do before the procedure or illness, and what do you do now? How do you fund any out-of-pocket costs?

Tips for finding a doctor who thinks like you? I have limited options, and the ones I've seen don't check anything at all. The last doctor I saw ignored this very issue, even after the lab test confirmed the blood.

Does "Math Without Numbers" cover statistics? If not, can you (anyone here) recommend a similar visualized book for statistics? I checked out "The Cartoon Guide to Statistics" after it was suggested in another post. I find it to be an uncomfortable and distracting read full of an outdated and particular (offensive) style of humor. I'm on the lookout for a thorough guide that explains the concepts behind statistics-related ideas in a simple way, with illustrations to help understand them.

Hoping that a math expert (or anyone else) has a good recommendation.

Thanks for all of the details, they're definitely appreciated.

I'm glad to hear you have a GP that cares. Also that the costs aren't impossible for you right now.

Are there things that you still would like to do, despite the disability and physical limitations?

I wanted to ask these but wasn't sure how to ask them! All I know is that Linux is used somewhere.
