I’m a white South African who got shot on a farm during a racially charged attack. I have been held up at gun and knifepoint multiple times. Even though I’m regularly told to “go back to Europe before you get your white throat slit” I have been told by asylum representatives that I would not qualify, because the violence I face is not considered racially motivated.

It’s really frustrating- fearing for your life and trying to get out, while watching people who live off welfare and commit disproportionate amounts of violent crime being allowed into your ancestral homeland while you are denied.

Is Germany really the nearest “safe country”? What’s your opinion of people who say these are economic refugees who want to live off German welfare?

I use pepper spray and don’t go out at night. There’s not really anything you can do to be “safe” outside of moving to racist white only communities.

The local law enforcement is a joke. The cops who took my statement when I got shot could barely read or write. I was told to lie and say I could identify the perpetrators when I couldn’t. I was once arrested for weed and told if I was black they would have let me go. The charges were withdrawn, but left pending on my record for six years to “teach a white boy a lesson”. I was once nearly arrested for driving without a licence when my licence had just been stolen during a mugging.

I’m working on getting my degree. It’s in computer graphics, and my liberal arts lecturers go on and on about my “white privilege” and how me criticising this country is “problematic”. I’m trying to get a skilled worker visa or maybe teach English abroad. I wish I could go “back to Europe” like all the people here say I should. They think of me as a colonialist settler and don’t understand that I’m not considered European in Europe, and will be treated like any other immigrant.

I’m trying to. It’s difficult, especially with the PTSD and physical pain from the gunshot wound. I’m working on getting my degree and a skilled worker visa or teaching English overseas. PM me if you have any additional advice on how to get out.

Officially the motivation is considered “poverty”. I’ve got a feeling if white thugs robbed blacks and used as many racial slurs as my attackers do it would be considered a hate crime, but that’s just my opinion.
