There are simple phrases that by law collectors MUST obey.

If you are polite and use them they HAVE to comply.

by law collectors can bug the shit out of you , unless you ask them not to.. here's how:

you must tell them DO NOT CONTACT ME EXCEPT BY MAIL.

you must tell them DO NOT CALL ME EVER AGAIN. DO NOT CONTACT MY WORK EVER- MY JOB WOULD BE JEOPARDIZED.

you must ask PLEASE MAIL PROOF OF DEBT FORM THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR.

Confirm your address politely so they can mail you

You must tell them you are familiar with the FDCPA (or they will ignore your previous statements) (they will NOT remove they only valid contact-skip tracing reasons- even if they cant call you)

By law they have to tell you if the call is being recorded as well , at the end of your call CONFIRM THEY RECORDED IT (as a reminder to the above legal statements) AND Let them you that know that you recorded it as well.

At this point -They can destroy your credit, but they cant do anything else by law (except mail you) without court proceedings.
