Just so everybody knows, the pilot can't just "turn the oxygen off to the cabin." The cabin air isn't anything more than outside air that has been filtered. It is pulled into the aircraft through a bleed system in the jet engines. There is no supplemental oxygen in the cabin air supply to turn off. It's just plain air.

What the captain could do is depressurize the cabin, which would make breathing difficult or impossible, forcing people to use the supplemental oxygen masks. But that would be a dangerous move for other reasons.

More info here.

Threatening to "turn the oxygen off" was most likely a scare tactic to keep everybody under control. If you think you need to breath from the mask, you can't leave your seat because that's where the mask is. A really clever way to keep people from storming the cockpit.

Edit: If, for some reason, you are ever in a situation where you are on an airplane that has depressurized and you need to move away from your seat (possibly to regain control of the aircraft from the hijackers,) the flight attendants have portable oxygen masks with tanks so they can walk around the cabin. They are usually in the rear most overhead bins near the first aid kits.

I've noticed this too. I wasn't sure if it was just my local place, but it used to be a little pink in the center, but now it's always well done. It's so different that I've started getting chicken.

I just ordered a pretty nice set of picks last week (should be here today!!!,) and have some PDF books on lock picking. I plan on just doing it as a hobby, to learn a new skill and kill some time.

What would you say is the best way to get cylinders to practice on? I know they sell expensive cut aways and stuff, but I'm talking about just regular cylinders with all the pins.

Would a local locksmith shop sell me some of their used cylinders, or would I get laughed at?

EDIT: I'm in the US.

If I have a pendulum of mass M, which hangs from a length of string of negligible mass and length L, what is the minimum angle theta that the at rest pendulum can be released from to achieve a speed of 1\2L per second at it's lowest point?

Assume simple harmonic motion and solve symbolically. You may not use conservation of energy to find your solution.

BONUS: Replace the string with a spring of constant K=pi, and account for friction caused by air at sea level. Assuming damped harmonic motion, what is the angular frequency of the oscillator?

When is your final?

Assuming I actually had the money, could I (just a regular guy off the street with no medical licenses or anything) buy one of your cadavers? How do they come shipped? Do I have to assemble them?

And have you ever thought about getting into the "sex doll" market?
