My grandma got her DL pulled last year (she's 97) and she misses having a car very much. Hope she'll come to accept it as well as you have!

Question for Tomas Lopez: Would you say you "saved the man's life"? My understanding is that you arrived after he had already been pulled out of the water and was being cared for by a nurse. Or would you say it's more accurate that you "attempted to save his life" if you see the distinction?
