Yeah, and it's easy to judge, but if you consider it palliative care it's a lot cheaper than a hospice in the US. If it brings him hope and peace and there aren't other options, it could be a valid way to face the inevitable. Maybe he doesn't need to say it out loud to understand his prognosis.

Don't sorry, it's pretty clear. I very much appreciate adult-only places when I travel. Kids are awesome but they can be noisy and they also deserve a vacation where they can run around and play without people giving them dirty looks :)

really? $200 for full-service anywhere seems really reasonable to me. like OP says, if you only have a few weeks a year to travel, you might want a more luxurious experience.

When we travel for a week, we'll spend 2-3 nights in a high-end spot and then go more rustic for the rest. Then we get a nice taste of luxury but don't destroy our bank accounts :)
