When I was a kid my family took me on that earthquake ride and I was either too out of it and tired to know what was going on, or they specifically told me it was just a random subway ride. I flipped a shit when everything started going crazy.

EDIT: Another fun story is that my older brother told me that King Kong malfunctioned when they were building it and King Kong ate a passenger. I did not like that ride.

EDIT 2: Not that I didn't have super positive experiences with Universal Studios, I fucking loved that place. But I really liked watching the Blues Brothers. Though that should give you a pretty good idea of what type of kid I was.
