Only 10 years? I could've sworn I've followed Subnormality for longer than that.

The best part of your work is the way you describe the oddities (and perfect normalities) of the mind in a way everyone can relate to. Where do you get your lovely insights into human nature?

People Watching is awesome, by the way! The dialogue-heavy stuff works even better as animation than the wall-of-text format. I hope there'll be more to come.

So how bad was Lyme disease? No lingering effects?

I was there a few years ago and got lied to and ripped off plenty of times. Just walking on the streets in Colombo or Kandy, someone will come to talk to you in hopes of getting money off you.

"Are you hungry? I can show you a good place to eat." They'll follow you, order for you, watch you eat, get a percentage of whatever you pay, ask for more money outside.

"Hello! Remember me? I'm the chef at the hotel." I just arrived and he was a taxi driver.

There was one guy who tried to forcefully push me into a shop and yelled at me when I still refused to go in.

Walking on the street, someone came up and started a conversation, asking what I'm interested in seeing. I mention a place, and he's like "oh, I'm a teacher there!" Turns out no, he was just another taxi driver lying so he could take me there for cash.

My favourite was "Hello! How are you? I'm the captain of a ship!" Launching into his fake story before I'd had a chance to say one word.

These aren't all the things that happened, either. There are great things about Sri Lanka, but they seemed plenty accustomed to ripping off tourists. It's not the highest on my recommended destinations list.

Wow, great trip! Your bike looks extremely light in some of those pics. I plan to do something similar and would probably have more than twice as much gear (back and front Ortliebs, handlebar bag, and rack pack).

Did you start heavy at first and gradually left out the stuff that wasn't needed? What equipment or minor luxuries do you miss the most? Ever been surprised by cold weather without enough to wear?
