Why in your opinion do missing and murdered women dominate the headlines when male numbers are much higher?

Why do people that talk about these issues rarely include the circumstances by which these horrible things happen? Ie. Meeting some guy they never met before downtown at three am for drugs?

What is the most appropriate advice you have for someone that has a younger cousin, who will likely be one of these missing and murdered aboriginal girls in the next few years. She's fas, 11yo and ran away from home last summer on a whim because she's dumb as bricks.

Thanks in advance. Full status native asking here.

She left town for three days following a circus, I shit you not. Went to another town about 398kms away because someone asked her to go. She is either 11 or 12. Didn't tell anyone, there was no indication she was leaving. She just left without a word. Thankfully this time she was able to make her way back, but she's what I consider extremely lucky considering the circumstances. Her mother's an addict who doesn't give two shits about her. Her father is an addict, who has given up hope that his daughter will listen to him. The only ones that try to talk to her are her aunties, which she dismisses everytime. I've spoken with her, but it's like talking to a wall. Whatever you see in when you look in someone's eyes that show you that they are aware is completely missing. They (there are two sisters) are purely reactional beings, that don't have the capacity to see cause and effect. I have already written them off as a statistic to come, as I have written off other people that I see the same thing in that either end up in jail, or die because of the lifestyle they choose. Make no mistake, everyday they wake up and have choice, but they don't have the understanding or mental ability to see the unnecessary dangers they're putting themselves in. When I read the news articles about these type of circumstances it is sad, but at the same time I can understand how things like this might happen. I've been in bad situations in my life, but I generally recognize it quickly and get the fuck out of that situation asap.

As someone that has seen both sides of the testosterone equation, you are unique in your ability to weigh in on certain questions. 1. How has testosterone changed your life? Maybe an example of one big thing, and one smaller thing.
2. How did it change your mood? Your outlook on life?
3. How would you explain to someone that doesn't believe that humans are generally alike (gender differences in society) , that hormones are the operating system of the body.

Thanks
