That's my point: 2fa is usually promoted as the standard for authentication, but you are here suggesting that I should actually enable a third factor, which involves storing a set of codes or an hardware device somewhere which is not the same place where I keep my phone etc etc. I find it rather complicate, and I doubt that many people actually do this.
So are many people risking to be locked out of their data?

What would you do if you were in a foreign country and somebody stole your bag with passport and mobile phone, and you wanted to access - from the embassy computer - some vital document (like, a photo of your passport) stored in your Dropbox account, where you have 2FA enabled?
In other words, isn't 2FA potentially dangerous in some not-so-improbable situations?
