What platform did you use to develop the original website version of Fitocracy? Did you use Google App Engine, Amazon, or WordPress?

That sounds like a somewhat shaky platform but really did you guys build it all from scratch? I have been taking a web development class hosted on Udacity by Reddit's co-founder Steve Huffman and he suggested using the Google App Engine to start a web application- I think Reddit was originally launched using the Amazon AWS. What are your thoughts?
