My mom is from there! She left after Saigon fell. She is in her 50's, a little older than you. She also has crazy stories, her father was also in the south army. He was crippled in the war but still had some intelligence and knew it was the time to run. He was crippled and couldn't go with them. My mom tells me that as they left their home, bombs started falling and one fell right on their house- with her father still in it. So many sad stories. I respect both of my parents so much for what they did to get here.
