They fed all of the troops

Napoleon once said soldiers march on their stomachs. I'm a Filipino and has studied Philippine history tremendously. During the Philippine Revolution against Spain back 1890s, one of the reasons why the Katipuneros (revolutionaries) were successful against Spain's ground troops despite inferior weapories and ammos is that any Filipino household will feed any rebel who needs food. A pack of rebels have awesome maneuverability, they can move forward or retreat with ease, because they can get fed anywhere. This is also the reason why it took the US three full years before finally putting an end to the Philippine-American War despite the superpower status the US already had during those times.

But I think Filipinos are really just generous with their food. During the Philippines's liberation from the Japanese, my grandma said some Japanese soldiers escaped to the mountains. They will occassionally descend from the mountains to beg for food from the Filipino households living in the foothills, and these households will give them some. So yeah, Filipinos don't mind sharing their food with others.

btw, plugging /r/redditambayan to Filipinos here.

Thanks for the response. Love your show btw. I'm from a non-Anglophonic country and people here can understand and enjoy watching your show. Your silent comedy setup really allows your show to make people laugh no matter what language they speak.

But why did Russia feel it couldn't protect its historical relationship with and other interests in Ukraine when that pro-Russian president of Ukraine was ousted? It isn't like Ukraine will begin antagonizing Russia when that president was ousted.

Google bought reCAPTCHA but they used a different captcha engine for most of their services. They mostly limited reCAPTCHA as a captcha engine which 3rd party websites can use for free through an API. Why is that?
