Sorry to hear that, but used diamond rings are really hard to sell.

Sorry to open a can of worms from the 80s... I actually agree with you that buying (and selling) diamonds on the internet is a much better proposition than the way it used to be.

If noxstreak's going to a jeweler (or worse yet a pawn shop) to try to sell his diamond, he's going to get seriously low-balled just because that jeweler needs to it in inventory and doesn't know when he'll be able to sell it to another customer.

There's still value, but nowhere close to the appraisal value.

Your best bet is probably EBay:

It looks like most rings are going for between 20-50% GIA appraisal value.

So why not just skip the jeweler commission and just EBay it yourself? Even if you only get 2K on EBay you'd be coming out ahead.
