I also think it's horrible that she's playing on parents' fears. In addition to creating a dangerous situation in which people don't vaccinate their kids, she's also using the fears of concerned parents to advance her agenda.

Imagine if you were about to have a baby and Jenny's "information" made you honestly believe that vaccines could give your child autism. After all, she is a celebrity, and tons of other famous people have jumped on board her crazy train. Can you imagine how scared you would be as you tried to decide whether or not to vaccinate? What must it feel like to have to weigh those risks for your child? Jenny and others are not just endangering the lives of children, but they are also scaring the crap out of new parents that just want the best for their kids, all to make a little bit of cash.

Just so everyone is aware, today the vaccine doesn't use the live virus, so this can't happen any more. I'm sorry to hear about your mom's case.

I commend you for still being pro-vaccine even though your family was negatively impacted by a vaccine. I feel that most people who are anti-vaccine believe that any negative side effects, however rare, are grounds to reject the very idea of vaccines. Some side effects are fabricated (like the link with autism), and the real side effects are usually extremely rare or very minor. In your mom's case, it sounds like she was infected due to the use of live viruses in the earlier versions of the vaccine, and either the vaccine was prepared incorrectly or she was just extremely unlucky. Thanks for recognizing that one tragic situation does not mean that vaccines as a whole are bad.

I've never understood why anti-vaccers don't just advocate for -better- vaccines. Do they reject the entire idea of vaccination against disease? Do they honestly think that there is no way we could develop a totally safe vaccine (if they think vaccines are dangerous).

That's very humble of you, considering how much you yourself are risking!

What's the most difficult part about writing and/or publishing a book? What's the easiest part?

This is starting to sound like that "What would you do if you were trapped in a room with an alternate version of yourself?" question. I don't want to know the answer when it comes to DOB's presidential preferences.
