Not OP but my grandmother is 86 and originally from Pforzheim, Germany, which was nearly bombed flat during the war (only a few buildings standing). My grandmother lived in an apartment complex type building with her family and they hid in the basement during some of the air raids. once she and a sibling went up to the kitchen for some reason. I guess some of their wall had been blown apart by a tank or something and she said outside she saw a black soldier. She was completely taken by surprise and he scared the daylights out of her. She had never seen a black person and she said she just froze and couldn't move. Totally freaked her out! She was about 12-15 at the time

What do you do with sweaters that have defects? Can you unravel them and user the yarn again?

I bought one of the hoover steam pet vacs and i will say this, it's not so much steam as hot water. that said, I've had it for two years and i use it every six months on the carpet, about every year on the cars (i love the attachment) and i use it on the furniture too. for less than $200 i think it was Worth it. it's far from perfect (leaks from the tank when using the attachment). i have an aversion to using the rentals because I'm afraid they will transfer bed bugs or roaches from the last person's house to mine.
