Seriously, you have been working, your job title is "Author". If you're looking for a fill-in job like making pizza, just don't tell them about your director job. What's the worst that could happen? Even if they found out and fired you, which is unlikely because it's a completely different industry with completely different people that you've probably never met before and will probably never meet again and at the end of the day they're probably happy to have people who aren't on drugs, I doubt if it would follow you around, because see above.

Yup, satellite, Inmarsat Fleet Broadband probably.

There are HF radio data services for ships but they are quite slow, email only.

There are older satellite data services like F77 but they tend to be slower and more expensive.

Another option is to set up your own satellite ISP by buying transponder time and operating a shore-station, e.g. http://hiseasnet.ucsd.edu/

What's the relative risk of living out your natural life with the artificial heart vs. receiving a transplant?

Stop reading now and delete this if you don't want to hear about my friend who had a negative transplant outcome.

* * * *

I ask because a good friend of mine in my ham radio club had an artificial heart for years and seemed to be doing really well, but died of complications a couple of weeks after finally getting his transplant. We were all grumbling about how much longer he might have lived if he hadn't received the transplant.
