What's your favourite platform and game from the 1980's?

I know you want to be unbiased and just clear up confusion, but where do you personally stand?

If the developer doesn't break that wall, the users will. Isn't it better to have control over the game to real economy yourself rather than the black market taking all of it? On the other hand, the only place I've seen it work well is Eve, probably because they let the ingame market set the conversion value. The worst would perhaps be the new Dungeon Keeper. Along those lines, what do you think works well and what is the worst at this?
