Not all speech is protected. The stepfather's words could be construed as "fighting words" or inciting civil unrest, and he could be held liable. I don't know that he's responsible as I don't know all the facts, but he sure didn't help.

That's where I am as to voting: going for the lesser evil. It shouldn't be this way but it is. I won't start a political debate here because I'm not going to change anyone's mind (and you won't change mine) but this is what our political system has come to. The fact that Trump the Fucktrumpet is a viable candidate scares the living shit out of me, because I really had no idea how many homophobic, mean, racist, uncaring, bigoted people lived in the US.

I have a spinal fusion and can't lift things into the overhead compartments… So I will check everything now. Thanks for the info.
